16th Asia Pacific Interior Design Award (APIDA) 2008
Presentation Ceremony Cocktail & Gala Dinner
Into its 16th year, Asia Pacific Interior Design Association (APIDA) Presentation Ceremony was held on 5th November 2008 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, organized by the Hong Kong Interior Design Association (HKIDA), continues to give recognition to outstanding interior design projects and designers, promoting professional standards and ethics among interior design practices operating in the Asia Pacific region.
Our Officiating Guests were Prof. Hon. Patrick Lau, SBS, JP, and Hon. Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, GBS, JP. (Both are Members of the Legislative Council). The Guests of Honor including Mr. Benjamin Chau, Assistant Executive Director of Hong Kong Trade Develo pment Council; Mrs. Selina Chow Liang Shuk-yee, GBS, OBE, JP and many other sister associations Chairmen/Presidents in Hong Kong and overseas, together with 300 members of the Interior Architecture and Design community from Hong Kong, Mainland and Overseas, well-known architects and designers participated in the grand ceremony.
Mr. Kinney Chan, a chairman of HKIDA indicated that "APIDA has proved to be a remarkable index at Asia-Pacific Rim in significant purpose to enhance the professional standard of Interior Designers, provide a communicate platform for the participates to view and emulate the outstanding entries, and represent the status of distinction and excellence in Interior Design." He expressed that this year HKIDA has collected the greatest number of APIDA entries, not only the participation for Interior Designers from Greater China Zone, but also entries for regional projects from global corporations have increased. Moreover, it is obvious that the rise of Interior Designers at Mainland China whom the profession of design have been enhanced, some of them have merited the major awards of categories.
More than 600 entries from Asian/Pacific Region include China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and The Philippines have received to contest the supreme honorable awards of Interior Design. 11 local and international judge panel of prominent designers, architects and academics have selected the best five winners including One Gold, One Silver, One Bronze Medal and Two Honorable Mention in Ten Categories (Retail, Office, Hotel, Club & Entertainment, Residential, Restaurant & Bar, Exhibition, Showflat, Institution and Public Space and Student). To praise the excellent contribution at Interior Design, "The Best Design Support Award" has won by Miele (Hong Kong) Ltd. (Enclose with the Top 3 Winner List)

16th Asia Pacific Interior Design Award (APIDA) 2008 Presentation Ceremony & Gala Dinner
With the enthusiastic participation and support from interior architects and designers over the years, Asia Pacific Interior Design Award (APIDA) becomes one of the great events at scope of Interior Design in Asia, developed by Hong Kong Interior Design Association (HKIDA).
This year HKIDA has received the greatest number of APIDA entries, more than 600 entries from Asian/Pacific Region include China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and The Philippines have received to contest the supreme honorable awards of Interior Design.
An Annual Grand Event The Asia Pacific Interior Design Award (APIDA) Presentation Ceremony & Gala Dinner will be held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 5 November 2008.
To enhance the professional standards of APIDA, the prestigious international adjudication panel consists of world-renowned professionals and experts from a variety of business, professional, academic and design disciplines with experience both locally and internationally.
The final result for ten categories of interior design will be announced at the Presentation Ceremony and Gala Dinner. Extraordinary, praising the excellent composition, the new ceremonious award "Best Design Support Award" will be recognized.
