| Registered
Interior Designers Association (RIDA) |
| The Management Committee of
RIDA considered various structures for the future
development of HKIDA. These range from it becoming
a full regulatory body equivalent to that which regulates
other professions in Hong Kong such as architects,
doctors and lawyers through consideration of adding
further responsibilities to the current organizational
structure, such as adjudicating upon professional
qualifications, supervising education of interior
designers, establishing works standards, providing
dispute resolution facilities, formalizing a lobbying
structure and engaging upon marketing and promotion
of members services within Hong Kong, the mainland
and the region.
More than two thousand of
questionnaires “Questionnaire
for Interior Designers” regarding
the Registered Interior Designers Association were
sent out in Jan 2006 for the purposes of collecting
members’ views and assessing their needs and level
of support for changes in the present structure of
HKIDA. It was really inspired us that nearly
500 questionnaires were returned till June.
It is now in the progress of data entry and analysis
and HKIDA will announce the result to the members
and public at a press conference soon. A series
of media interview are being conducted and will be
published in this year so as to arouse the attention and awareness
of the public, and to promote the importance of professionalism
in the industry. |
